The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati is partnering with the Freestore Foodbank to distribute emergency foodboxes for children, familie.s, and seniors in our community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. On Thursday, April 23, 2020, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., a drive-through food distribution will be held at the Gamble-Nippert YMCA, located at 3159 Montana Avenue, Cincinnati, Ohio 45211. Boxes will include staple grocery items.

“Our community needs us now more than ever,” said Freestore Foodbank  Chief Development Officer and VP of External Affairs Trisha Rayner. “As the COVD-19 pandemic continues, we are committed to serving kids and families facing hunger right here in our neighborhoods. We are proud to partner with the YMCA, who can host a place where families who are facing this crisis can easily and safely get food.”

“The Y is honored to partner with the Freestore for this critical community distribution,” said YMCA of Greater Cincinnati President and CEO Jorge Perez. “Since the pandemic began, with the support of our members, we have worked with several partners to distribute over 27,000 meals throughout our community.”

Food distribution will begin at 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Gamble-Nippert YMCA. For safety reasons, distributors cannot enter your vehicle, so please, drive up to the distribution point, pop your trunk, and a volunteer will place the food box in your trunk.
