The R.C. Durr YMCA outdoor and indoor pools in Burlington, KY are open as the summer heat returns. Through the pandemic restrictions in 2020, the YMCA pool was only open to members. This summer, the Y is opening the pool not only to members, but is also offering day passes to any Boone County residents starting June 28th.
“We have been a long time partner with the local governments in Northern Kentucky and remain committed to strengthening the community.”, said Jorge Perez, President & CEO of the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati. “When we learned the City of Florence was unable to open the Florence Aquatic Center this summer, we wanted to help to ensure the community has a place to cool off and play during the hottest months of the year.”
In addition to being a place to beat the heat and have some summer fun, the Y is a place committed to safety around water.
“Safety around water is a commitment at the Y.”, Perez continued. “We offer swim lessons for members and non-members so everyone can be safe in Y pools this summer.”
The R.C. Durr YMCA offers a 6-lane indoor pool and a large outdoor aquatics area featuring a 5-lane pool, recreation swimming with zero depth entry, water slide, splash play areas, snack bar, playground and more.
Beginning June 28th, those wanting a day pass for the Y pool, can pick one up at the welcome desk at the R.C. Durr YMCA located at 5874 Veterans Parkway, Burlington, KY 41005. The pool will be open to community guest pass holders Monday – Thursday from 1:00 – 7:00 pm, Saturday 1:00 – 8:00 pm and Sundays 1:00 – 6:00 pm.
Day passes for individuals are $8 for adults (Age 13+), $5 for children (age 3-12) and $2 for ages 2 and under. A day pass for a family is $25.
Summer and monthly memberships are available at the Y for expanded pool hours and the full suite of services and member-only pricing options.
