The Earth is 71% water
Kids are 100% curious

Drowning can happen nearly anywhere with standing water — but as a parent or caregiver, you can’t keep your kids sidelined. By equipping kids with the tools they need to be confident in and around water, they’ll be able to keep themselves safe around water, bond with family and friends and take pride in their new skills.

For children ages 3-12 with little to no swimming experience. Must be potty trained.

  • Stress the importance of asking permission and having adult supervision near water
  • Learn how to roll on your back if you fall in the water to call out for help
  • How to exit the pool safely
  • Pushing off the bottom of the pool and reaching for the wall
  • Learning how to help a friend who is struggling in the water
  • Caregivers will be offered an in depth class on water safety FREE event, registration is required at MyY.org/events/APD

Free for the community – registration is required.  Our staff will be able to help sign your child up for a 6-week session of Swim Lessons, scholarships are available as a part of the Y’s commitment to being a place For All people.  Tell a neighbor and friend about this unique opportunity to keep our kids safe!
