Kids Club services are available for children from as young as 6 weeks up to 9 years of age. The YMCA of Greater Cincinnati provides various types of care to assist parents whenever possible. Our YMCA caretakers understand how important the early years of educational, physical, and social development for your child are, which is why they work to help every child reach their full potential in Kids Club.

Why is Kids Club Beneficial?

Kids Club, and the other childcare options provided by the Y, can be proven to be very beneficial for the overall development of your child. Staying involved whether in school or on long periods of school breaks, can greatly benefit children. School breaks can be a stressful time for parents and the YMCA can offer the ability to continue to build and develop your child’s academic skills while providing parents adequate time to take care of other endeavors.

Research shows that children benefit from programs like Kids Club, Afterschool Care, and School Days Out as they help with improving grades and creating a friendly social environment for kids to make meaningful connections.

Additionally, kids’ programs at the YMCA provide educational settings to improve overall academic development, promote physical health, and provide a safe environment to encourage and embrace kids to be themselves.

Enrolling infants, toddlers, and children of young ages in childcare programs is especially beneficial as the developmental years of young children are essential to their ability to grow into healthy functioning adults.

Additional Childcare Programs – Everything You Need to Know!

If you or a loved one are looking for more childcare options, the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati also offers YMCA Before and After School Care, School Days Out, Infant Care, and Toddler Care.

Before and After School Care

The YMCA’s Afterschool Care is for ages 5 to 12 and is licensed by the states of Ohio and Kentucky. The curriculum offered in the YMCA After School Care program focuses on education, leadership, and character development.

Additionally, the YMCA After School Care program includes homework assistance, enrichment, art, music, physical activity, character development, and engaging activities! Programs for Before and After School Care take place before and after school at YMCA branches and local schools. Registration packets for each site can be found through the branch listed with the school or on the YMCA website.

School Days Out

Another program offered at select locations of the YMCA is the School Days Out program. This program is offered for school-age children and offers continuous care during school breaks like Spring Break, Fall Break, and Winter Break. The School Days Out Program gives parents peace of mind that their child is well cared for in a safe, nurturing, and encouraging environment.

Infant Childcare

If you have younger children, the YMCA offers infant childcare. The programs offered by the YMCA for infants are tailored to enrich the infant’s development skills through daily physical and motor development activities.

The caregivers at the YMCA infant program take extra care and attention to detail in providing your child with a loving and nurturing environment to ensure cognitive growth through various interactions and skill-building activities. The YMCA always strives to do this, as it’s important to allow parents to feel safe while being away from their kids.

Toddler Childcare

Toddler childcare is also available at the YMCA. This program at the YMCA provides experiences to enrich and enhance a child’s cognitive, language, social, emotional, physical, and creative development. When choosing to enroll a toddler in this program, you will give your child an opportunity to create, problem solve, and learn concepts through first-hand experience.  Toddlers absorb knowledge quickly through mirroring behavior.
