Safety Around Water
The Y’s swim instructors, staff and volunteers teamed up to offer 300 kids a free opportunity to participate in our one-day safety around water class. Instructors taught kids and caregivers techniques to remain safe around pools and bodies of water. Community swim lessons at the Carl H. Lindner Impact Center in the west end served 251 students this school year. These two initiatives help reduce barriers that prevent proper water safety instruction.
Reach for Gold
The Gymnastics team vaulted into action with the help of 380 volunteers who welcomed families from across the county for a memorable 5-day competition. Thanks to 4,690 hours of volunteerism efforts, Cincinnati was able to host 1,700 young athletes reach for the gold and execute their events.
Stronger Spirit, Mind, & Body
This year we introduced two apps to keep our members connected to the pillars of our mission. The Spirit App and Strong90 help to keep everyone engaged in their faith, physical activity and mental health. Our local Y offers these tools to YMCAs across the country for their members to achieve their goals, foster relationships and gain a true sense of belonging. As our world changes, we stand by our mission to help members and community grow strong in Spirit, Mind, and Body.
