GRATEFUL TO BE BACK TOGETHER

The isolation of the pandemic affected us all, but our seniors often felt this the most. Thanks to your generosity, our Senior Center teams, and volunteers, were able to continue to meet the needs of our senior community even while our senior centers were closed due to COVID restrictions.

Our seniors were eager to get back together. One way we served in 2021 was by partnering with the Northern Ky Health Dept to provide Moderna vaccination clinics. Here is a video that highlights our oldest participant, Alice Perott receiving her 1st vaccination in Walton, March 2021. Her story is extraordinary as she shares that her own mother died of the Spanish flu in 1918 when Alice was only 2.

Alice has now lived through TWO pandemics in her lifetime, something almost none of us will ever understand. Having lost her mother in the last pandemic, Alice was eager to anything she could to keep her friends and family safe while hoping to get back to her normal routine.

The Senior Centers in Boone County reopened their doors in July of this year and celebrated Alice turning 105 years old! She is doing well and attends the Walton center weekly to socialize with friends, play bingo, and rummy.
