Christy Burke, nominated by Powel Crosley, serves as the Volunteer Coordinator for Powel Crosley’s Tigersharks Swim Team Parent Advisory Committee. While this is Christy’s third season volunteering with the Y, Christy has been dedicated to service work her whole life. “Service is about creating community, acknowledging people for who they are and their skills.” Outside of her role at the Tigersharks, Christy is also involved with the American Heritage Girls as a troop leader, the high school swim team as volunteer coordinator, and Boy Scouts as a merit badge instructor and archer instructor.
