The water fitness classes at the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati are a great way to gain muscle conditioning and increase cardiovascular endurance without putting stress on the joints.

Aquacise

Aquacise

Aquacise is a moderate intensity that focuses on cardiovascular, strength, and flexibility. Provides a fun and safe workout with minimal impact on the knees and other joints

It’s an easy exercise program in the water with no music.

Aquatic Arthritis

Taught by a certified Arthritis Foundation instructor.

The Aquatic Arthritis program offers a recreation series of gentle activities in the pool. The program is designed to help relieve the pain and stiffness caused by arthritis while providing a fun, social opportunity.

Gentle Moves

Gentle Moves

This low-impact water workout focuses on cardiovascular training, muscle toning, flexibility and coordination. The water supports the weight of the body and makes exercising easier.

Shallow Water Variety

This water fitness class focuses on muscle resistance using various exercises and equipment. These are all performed in the shallow end of the pool to provide both a cardiovascular and strength training workout.

Deep Water Variety

This water fitness class focused on aqua Jogger belts and other equipment using various exercises. These are all performed in the deep end of the pool to provide both a cardiovascular and strength training workout.

Lap swimming can be a great way to improve flexibility, endurance, and help lower blood pressure as well as stress.
