Barb Bruner, who began operating the center 27 years ago, is retiring and was looking for the right organization to entrust her business to. She wanted an organization that would continue to uphold the strong Christian principles that have sustained the center over its many years of operation in the Batavia Township.
“I have enjoyed serving the many children who have come through our doors over these many years; in some cases, we are serving their children today,” said Bruner. “We have forged many lifelong friendships with past students and their parents and I am confident that the Y will continue the great work we have started here.”
The center serves children from six weeks through 12-years-of-age, providing comprehensive daycare, preschool, along with before and after school care for Batavia and Williamsburg Schools. Currently, 145 children receive help at the site.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the children and staff at the BHCCC,” said Clermont Family YMCA Executive Director Sheila Hinton, who has an extensive background in child care and day camp. “Our Y is only a few minutes away from this excellent center. We will provide added opportunities for the children enrolled there.
“The Chamber of Commerce commits’ to the greater good of Clermont County. This includes the presence of quality preschools for our residents” said President of the Clermont Chamber of Commerce Matt Van Sant. “We are very pleased to have the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati as a partner in this endeavor.”
YMCA Childcare Programs
Children are like sponges—they watch and absorb knowledge, skills, and values from everything and everyone around them. At the Y, the values and skills learned early on are vital life building blocks. This increase the quality of life and future success. At the Y, babies develop trust and security. Preschooler’s experience early learning and kindergarten readiness. School-age kids make friends, learn new skills and do their homework. Most importantly, children learn how to be their best selves. That makes for confident kids today, and contributing and engaged adults tomorrow.
Hinton said there will be a seamless transition of services. If you’d like more information about the YMCA child care services in Batavia, call (513) 724-9622.
