Tom is an exemplary leader whose dedication to the YMCA is unmatched. As both a committed board member and an enthusiastic fundraising chairman, Tom’s passion for the Y is evident in everything he does. From spearheading key initiatives to building meaningful relationships with donors, his contributions are vital to the success of the YMCA. Tom’s involvement with the YMCA goes beyond board meetings; he’s in the branch nearly every day, either volunteering or working out. For Tom, volunteering is the most meaningful way to make a difference in the community and support those in need.
Tom’s leadership truly shined during last year’s National Gymnastics Championship, where he devoted hundreds of hours to ensure the event’s success—an effort that exemplifies his selflessness and unwavering commitment. His journey with the National Gymnastics Championship began as a joke with a staff member during a spinning class, but when the real opportunity arose, Tom stepped up and became the lead volunteer for this incredible project that made an impact for over 1,000 gymnasts and their families. Without Tom’s lead and his never-ending support of the Y staff and volunteer team, the event would not have been so successful.
What Tom loves most about volunteering is being part of something bigger than himself. It’s not just the tasks or the events—it’s the chance to work alongside others and create something meaningful. Volunteering has brought him new experiences and allowed him to meet countless new people. Tom’s leadership, generosity, and enthusiasm make him an invaluable part of our YMCA family, and his impact is felt by all. We are thrilled to have him as a member of the Powel Crosley Family!
Congratulations Tom on being selected as Powel Crosley, Jr. YMCA’s 2024 Volunteer of the Year!
