Walnut Hills Early Learning Center

Cincinnati, Ohio – April 3, 2024 – HER Cincinnati (est. 1830 as Cincinnati Union Bethel) a leading social services agency whose purpose is to empower women to break the cycles of poverty, addiction, and human trafficking, is thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership with the YMCA. Beginning in March 2024, the YMCA will serve as the official child care provider for the newly established Walnut Hills Early Learning YMCA at Cincinnati Scholar House.

The Walnut Hills Early Learning YMCA is a vital addition to the Walnut Hills neighborhood, providing a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for children. Enrollment in the Walnut Hills Early Learning YMCA is available to the community at large, in addition to the residents of Cincinnati Scholar House.

Cincinnati Scholar House, a program of HER Cincinnati, opened in 2020 in partnership with the Model Group and Christ Church Cathedral. Focused on guiding single parent college students to earn a post-secondary degree to further their career possibilities and earnings potential, Cincinnati Scholar House offers affordable housing and wrap-around supportive services to ensure success in school and beyond. A key element of the Cincinnati Scholar House program is on-site childcare, so that parents can focus on school knowing that their children are in a conveniently located, nurturing, and educational environment. HER Cincinnati is pleased to have selected the YMCA as the childcare provider within our residence. The Walnut Hills Early Learning YMCA will offer services for infants, toddlers, and preschool age students. Infant, Toddler, and Preschool daily schedules are designed to teach creativity, language, listening, and social emotional growth.  Each day is focused on ensuring children will be ready to begin Kindergarten through the YMCA’s Early Learning Curriculum.
