Volunteer of the Year Spotlight: Ellie & Jason Addison

Thank you to all 2,150 volunteers who made their community better with their time and talents. Here are our winners from every branch.

Camp Ernst

For the past few weeks, we have been highlighting our Volunteer of the Year winners from our 2023 Keystone Awards. Today, we introduce you to a duo, Ellie and Jason Addison, who volunteer their time to do ranch maintenance and care for the horses.

Ellie and Jason volunteer weekly at the barn and in all types of weather! Ellie is fantastic helping with daily barn chores and Jason is finding a love of horses while working alongside his daughter. He helps with tractor maintenance or other minor repairs, staying until it’s fixed or finds a way to fix it during his time away from the barn. Seeing their daughter/father relationship through their volunteer work is so inspirational – that’s what the Y is about… family coming together for a purpose. The impact that they have had on our site/program area is amazing. Not only do they perform much needed tasks for caring for the Y horses, they also make sure to take care of people by creating a positive inclusive environment for anyone who ventures out to the barn. Thank you, Ellie and Jason, for being great examples of the YMCA’s values of caring and responsibility.

Keep checking back for more of our volunteer keystones.
