YMCA of Greater Cincinnati’s Stacey Tepe Honored with National Award

2025 Recipient of Y-USA's John deBarbadillo Award

We’re thrilled to share that Stacey Tepe, Masters Swim Coach at the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati (Powel Crosley, Jr.  YMCA), has been awarded the 2025 John deBarbadillo Award—a national honor presented by YMCA of the USA in recognition of outstanding leadership and contributions to Masters Competitive Aquatics. The award was announced on May 10, 2025, at the YMCA National Masters Meet in Orlando, FL.

Stacey has coached our Masters Swim Program since 2019, fostering a team that consistently draws more than 100 swimmers each year for early morning practices. Her impact extends far beyond the pool—during the pandemic, she increased practices from 3–4 days to 6 per week, helping swimmers stay connected, active, and motivated.

She also introduced a strength training program tailored to Masters swimmers, further supporting athlete wellness and performance. Under her leadership, the team has grown into a supportive, close-knit community that truly embodies the Y’s values.

This was Stacey’s 9th year competing at the National Meet, and we couldn’t be prouder to see her passion and dedication recognized on a national stage.

Congratulations, Stacey, and thank you for all you do!
