Volunteers of the Year:
Jillian and Tony Magner

Blue Ash YMCA - Youth Sports Coaches

Jillian and Tony embody the spirit of teamwork and dedication, having generously contributed over 325 hours to coaching youth sports since 2021. Their commitment spans across all seasons, with Jillian leading spring and fall soccer, while Tony commands fall and winter basketball. Their shared passion for youth sports is evident in every practice and game, where they create a positive, welcoming environment that makes even the most hesitant first-time players feel at ease.

Jillian’s creativity shines through in her innovative drills and special soccer obstacle courses, especially for her youngest players. On the final day of soccer season, she often brings equipment from home to set up a huge, fun obstacle course for her 3-4-year-old team, even inviting other teams to join in. Tony’s boundless energy on the basketball court is equally inspiring, motivating players with his enthusiastic coaching style.

Jillian and Tony go above and beyond in fostering a strong sense of achievement, belonging, and relationships, which are central to our mission in youth sports. They consistently create a welcoming environment in every season, using fun drills and games that get kids laughing and developing a love for team sports. Their personal touch is evident as they provide each child with a personalized headband or wristband every season, ensuring every player feels like an essential part of the team.

If staffing ever presents a challenge, Jillian and Tony are always willing to step in and support the team. Their enthusiasm, dedication, and care for each child’s experience are unmatched, and their service to the Blue Ash YMCA is truly exceptional. We are immensely grateful for everything they do—they are the best!

Congratulations Jillian and Tony on being selected as Blue Ash Y’s 2024 Volunteer of the Year!
