Greater Cincinnati YMCA Gymnastics Team Shines at Nationals

Gymnasts from Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA showcase strength, skill, and team spirit at the 2025 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship & Invitational

The Greater Cincinnati YMCA Gymnastics Team from Powel Crosley Jr. YMCA traveled to Green Bay, Wisconsin in June to compete in the 2025 YMCA National Gymnastics Championship and Invitational. It was an unforgettable experience filled with powerful performances, personal growth, and plenty of team spirit.

This national meet brought together over 2,000 gymnasts from YMCAs across the country. For our athletes, it was the moment they had trained for all year. From the first salute to the final medal ceremony, they showed up with determination, grace, and joy. GCY had 16 gymnasts qualify and represent Cincinnati at this meet, including seniors Marie Hoelzle, Carina Dinardo, and Maura McDermott-Bucaro.

Special Shoutout to Our Seniors!

  • Marie Hoelzle will be attending the University of Minnesota, studying Civil Engineering

  • Carina Dinardo will be attending The Ohio State University, majoring in Biology on a Pre-Med track as part of the Honors Program

Team Achievement

4th Overall in Level 2 Team Awards

This was a standout year for our Level 2 gymnasts, who demonstrated incredible passion and consistency throughout the competition!

More than medals, this trip was about living out the values we practice every day at the Y. It was about setting goals and achieving them. Building relationships that lift us up. And belonging to a team that believes in each other, on and off the mat.

We are proud of every gymnast, coach, and parent who represented Greater Cincinnati with courage and character. You brought the mission of the YMCA to life in every routine, every team huddle, and every cheer. If you see a gymnast in the halls of PCY, tell them congratulations on an amazing season!
